The 1970 Boss Mustang

This is my all time favourite, the grabber colours and one still from left field the Metallic Gold makes these cars look some kind of magic.

Its really good to know a little bit about them so here it goes, the 1970 Boss Mustang is very Special as it has been made to compete in racing NASCAR to ensure enough engines where produces 500 to all the engine to be used in the series. But by this stage the Boss 302 was also building its own reputation for a street car and unique configuration of the Boss engine had every one talking it was true winner with the punters. Anyway the facts – produced 7013 units of the unique Windors small block and big block 429 Boss 499. The 1970 Boss Mustang what a street muscle car.

1965 Shelby Mustang

The original street ‘cred‘1965 Shelby Mustang, Carol Shelby had already been made famous in the race car manufacturing business with his AC Cobra did a deal with Ford to produce the Shelby mustang in 1965. This started the long but turbulent relationship, which still exists today.

But getting to business on the Shelby the original had a degree of rawness about it, racecar like but also just spine tingling. What a car it absolutely amazing not to mention ‘the look’. The motor was the 289 with a 4-barrel carbie and a special inlet manifold for a added performance, the bonnet was fibreglass with a functioning scoop, brake increased all round, cobra emblem and steering wheel centre, racing stripes and the now legendary GT 350 markings. Rear quarter vents modified to fit rear quarter windows totally transform the Shelby. Anyway some facts produced 562 with a special of 42 of these as Race packs which were known as R code Shelby’s. The 1965 Shelby Mustang so cool.

1964 Mustang Convertible

The first the real first cars – these are early 1965 marked cars that were actually built in 1965. It’s amazing that to this day they can really be picked out so easily. The official change over date is July 31 1964 at which time the full range of 1965 Mustangs were introduced with the Fastback, GTs and of course the 1965 Mustang Shelby. The deluxe interior options was added which became know as “pony” trim. However back to the 1964 and half, for these 5 months the falcon based Mustangs where hitting the street and causing a stir at dealerships with deals being done on floor cars and auctions being held to sell off stock that was meant to be already placed. The 1964 and half could be identified by: Generator charging system, a 170ci six (U-code), a 260 2V (F-code), a 289 4V (D-code) low-compression, or a 289 4V (K-code) high – compression, large horns which were mounted behind the radiator, a brake light pressure switch on the master cylinder, a center “off” heater fan switch, and a generator charge light, to cover the basics. In 1964 you could get a convertible mustang or a coupe. The numbers are: convertibles 28,833, and coupes 92,705 an outstanding amount and above all expectations for a first year and new line but more was yet to come. One million mustangs by March 1966 or 2 years later into production, undeliverable. The first production mustang off the line was a 1964 Mustang Convertible, the Millionth was a 1966 mustang convertible.

Few things capture the thoughts like the unknown future. TV shows and cartoons have shown us some pretty inventive possibilities of what vehicles would become. How did you imagine we would travel in the year 2010? The self-driven taxi from Total Recall? Hovering craft like in Star Wars? We imagined better, faster, cooler cars than ever. Technology has taken a completely different direction. Cars already do what we need them to do. Hovering would be cool, but wouldn’t really serve any other purpose. Cars already have sufficient speed that the highway patrol has to try to slow people down. In fact, in many places there’s so much traffic that cars can’t use the speed they already have. Aesthetics are still important, but rather than buying the flashiest possible car, people are choosing streamlined, attractive cars. Even spoilers are usually understated and painted the same color as the car. Auto makers tout the vehicles’ reliability and safety records, which has improved exponentially in recent years. What do cars still leave to be desired? Fuel efficiency – even more practicality. The price of gasoline has soared in recent years, and it’s expensive just to drive around town. Cars that run on less gasoline, or none at all, are the hot sellers. Automakers have a lot of choices for reaching this goal, from hydrogen to biofuel to propane. None of these technologies is perfect yet, especially economically. In the last few years, one technology has taken the lead and reached the car dealership: electricity. Hybrids were the first to hit the market and fully electric vehicles aren’t far behind. Toyota was the first to get its hybrid, the Prius, to consumers at a reasonable price. The other automakers followed closely on their heels. The Ford Escape, Infiniti M35, Honda Civic and Nissan Altima are just a few of the offerings. Cadillac’s Escalade and GMC’s Sierra prove that hybrids no longer have to be only small, lightweight cars. The government has encouraged the use of cars that consume less gasoline and don’t cause as much damage to the environment by offering financial incentives. You can go buy one of these cars today at your local San Bernardino Toyota Dealership or Car Dealers Des Moines with no problem. The fully electric car is the next development we’ll see. They’ve been out in very small numbers until now, seen at car shows or as part of a fleet of cars driven by the local electric company. Finally cars like the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt are hitting showrooms. New cars are clearly headed in this direction despite unresolved issues like price of batteries and limited range. One innovation that gets a lot less attention is just good old fashioned fuel efficiency. A car can run on gasoline, but use a lot less of it. Though less flashy, fuel efficiency has been slowly and steadily improving for many years. Look at the non-hybrid version of the Honda Civic, which gets 34 MPG or the Ford Focus with its 35 MPG highway. I never would have imagined such numbers when I filled up my first V8 muscle car when gas cost only $1.35 a gallon. So while we’re unlikely to see cars like the DeLorean from Back to the Future or Kitt from the Knight Rider, cars will continue to evolve to meet our ever-changing needs. America’s love affair with the automobile is far from over.

A frequently asked question that continues to arise with car owners is whether to use non detergent oil or detergent oil. Even though detergent oil has not been widely used for many decades, it is the predominant type of oil used today. Whether you choose to use detergent oil or choose non detergent oil, it will depend on the engine manufacturer’s recommendations.

Oil enthusiasts sometimes pontificate about whether detergent oil even contains detergent. Experts will site that, for engines that need detergent oil, the oil prevents sludge from forming by keeping collections of sludge from sticking together and forming longer chains of sludge within the engine. It is believed then that before deposits join together to create oil sludge, they would be filtered out by the oil filter.

Non detergent oil may also be an effective gear box oil for certain types of gear boxes currently in use today. Each engine or gear box should come with recommendations from the company on the best lubricant to use for optimal performance and maintenance. Engine owners can usually access information about their motors or gear boxes from online sources such as downloadable PDF files or owners manual documents.

In addition to ND oil or non detergent motor oil, there is also HD oil, which is high detergent oil. Higher amounts of detergent are present in high detergent motor oil as one may suspect. One way for people to clean the inside of engines is to engage the use of a high detergent oil. It varies by auto tech, but high detergent oil can be used as a viable solution for some engines. HD oil is considered to be more gentile on breaking up sludge and less likely to break off sludge in large pieces that would clog oil passages. What ever your chosen solution for reducing your engine sludge, be advised that every solution has advantages and disadvantages and that to maximize the life of your engine, you need to also maximize your lubrication.

The bar has been set with the new Toyota Prius. The Prius continually gets the best gas mileage of all hybrids today. The Prius hybrid comes stock with a 1.the displacement is up 0.3 liters.5L.Optimization in the torque increases gas mileage and fuel economy due to lower gearing at highway speeds.Horsepower is now up from 110 to 160.

The new Prius will get better fuel economy. Of course there are those out there who employ some great hypermiling techniques or they use plain old frugal driving habits to net upwards of 75 MPG out of their Prius! The Prius has been lightened enough to affect the fuel economy. The stiffened chassis helps with handling and reduces road noise.

Toyota engineers have vastly sharpened the steering. Features that were optional on previous models such as: air, CD, and power winds, doors, and locks; now come standard for 2010. It also comes with many new features including, a Touch Tracer system that mimics your finger-swipes over steering-wheel controls over the gauges, power windows, cruise control, AM/FM/XM/CD player, a sunroof with solar panels, a remote air conditioner, a navigation system, LED headlamps, Bluetooth, and a backup camera.

Heat is taken from the brakes and transformed into energy to recharge the batteries. The new Toyota Prius graduated at the highest of its class in safety standards. Some features include, seven airbags, as well as a driver knee bag, anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, tire pressure monitors, radar cruise control, a lane-departure warning system, a rearview camera, a “Safety Connect” system, and Intelligent Parking Assist.

See the new Prius and a nice inventory of other hybrids at San Jose Toyota. The Prius has been named top green car for the past few years. And why shouldn’t it. The Prius gets great gas mileage which saves gas, in turn putting less strain on the environment. Not to mention is is a low emissions vehicle. The PRius is an honored car that does a great job of keeping its resale value. So if you cannot afford to buy a brand new 2010 Prius, go ahead and look for a nice used model. You will pay less, get a capable car, and even get a used car warranty if you buy a certified Toyota hybrid.

Buying a hybrid car may give you the bragging rights of being the first person in your neighborhood to drive a hybrid vehicle. But that doesn’t finish on that point. Harnessing the hybrid applied science could really contribute you numerous advantages you can’t await by a conventional gasoline-engine auto.

1. Fuel saving. Dependent on the drive circumstance and driver’s uses, a gasolene battery-powered family sedan could go 15-34 miles on a gallon of fuel. Hybrid cars, on the other hand can run 40-60% longer at 20- 60 miles on a gallon of gas. This is perhaps the biggest reason why hybrid cars are so popular today. And with the uncontrollable increase in pump prices, hybrid cars can solve at least one of the obvious problems.

2. Durability. The hybrid Cars mechanically blocks off it is burning engine while idleness. Not only does them assist to economise gas, it also cuts the wear on the engine. Also, the regenerative braking system that recaptures the lost energy when braking reduces the wear on the brakes.

3. Tax credit reward. When the sticker cost from single hybrid auto may adjust you back numerous 1000s more it is non-hybrid counterpart, you are able to really delight a taxation honour from as much as 00 dependant on what hybrid auto you purchase. Also, the authorities brings down numerous bonuses privileged to hybrid car owners as if costless parking between other people.

4. Environmental impact. Hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, particulate matter (diesel), and formaldehyde also known as formalin are 5 noxious gases emitted by gasoline- or diesel-powered vehicles. This gases give to the greenhouse result. Shortly, this gases are adverse to the environment. Since hybrid cars consume less fuel, they also emit less fumes.

5. High-tech figure. If you only care about the looks of the car, then choose among one of the available hybrid cars on the market today and you’ll surely fall in love with one of them. Hybrid autos are one of the better appearing cars nowadays.

6. Exclusivity. There are only a few hybrids among 200 million cars on the road today. And if you have one, and then you will feeling that you have an exotic car. While this won’t last long since many car manufacturers have announced more hybrid models in the future plus more and more hybrids are being sold everyday, it is still a good feeling that you are one of the first.

Brighton was chosen because it’s the home of Elektromotive, the company that developed and makes the Elektrobay roadside charging station and which has installed more than 100 in London since 2006. Brighton only currently has four stations that can be accessed which for such a big place is nothing at all.

The Elektrobay is capable of charging fully electric and plug-in hybrid cars, with customers getting a key fob that wirelessly unlocks the unit for roadside charging.

The great thing is that by moving to a smaller place it is starting to show just how big of an impact it is all making.

There are actually two big reasons why people are just not that interested in buying one of these cars, one is because they are a bit rubbish and two is that there arent enough places to charge them. People won’t buy an electric car for both of these reasons.

However, once there is somewhere to charge up people will get them and that will in turn create demand for more research funding to make better cars.

So although there are actually not very many places where you can charge up your vehicle if you give it a bit of time we could be on to something here.

The real question that needs to be asked is will they be upgrading things like used cars to make them greener? If you have recently gone out and purchased a Audi TT Roadster then you are not going to be pleased when you cannot upgrade it to make it a bit greener. Audi Cars is just one of the brands that needs to be looked into for this.

Convert Engine to Biodiesel – DIY and Say Bye Bye to the Expensive Gas

You might not know this but your car can actually run on animal fat and vegetable oil. The latter is more common and more preferred, thanks to many people who have tried it and attested to its reliability. You can convert engine to biodiesel even at home. All you need is an online tutorial, which you can readily find in the Internet. But before you set out to achieve this little project, it’s best to learn about the advantages and disadvantages of converting your diesel engine to biodiesel.

It’s no secret that biodiesel is a wonderful alternative for regular diesel. Unlike petroleum diesel, biodiesel does not produce harmful greenhouse gas emissions. On the contrary, it is nontoxic and biodegradable, making it a friendly to the environment. Your car will be from emitting unburned hydrocarbons, sulfur, carbon monoxide, and particulate matter if you convert engine to biodiesel. Moreover, biodiesel also burns more completely compared with other fossil-based products in the market.

Using biodiesel also has more its downside, as with any other type of fuel. For one, the exhaust of biodiesel actually has emissions of nitrogen oxygen than regular diesel. Another concern is the decrease in car performance; reportedly, car performance suffers from an eight to fifteen percent reduction due to biodiesel’s lower energy content. Finally, biodiesel requires modern diesel engines because the old ones have rubber seals, which deteriorate upon long-time exposure to biodiesel that actually works as solvent.

The pros of using biodiesel are more significant than the cons. Find out how you can convert engine to biodiesel now.

Which is the Right Alternative Fuel for my Vehicle

Sourcing for alternative fuel for gas engine appears like best thing to do at present as gas costs rise, while we speak. The growing trend is installing HHO Gas Conversion Kits in your engine.

Burning hydrogen gas does not exactly mean that your car will run on water only. Hydrogen gas is also used as supplemental to gasoline in order to increase car’s fuel competence. Water, is broken into its essentials through the course of electrolysis to make hydrogen or Oxy-hydrogen. Hydrogen gas is burnt in combustion chamber with gasoline and it acts like inoculation giving to cars engines the better presentation and mileage.

With rising gas rates, you may be looking for the solutions on different ways to save some money driving the car. So, here we will be talking about hydrogen gas and how it becomes an alternative fuel for gas engine.

Hydrogen Fuel – What Exactly Is It?

So, you may be asking, what is this hydrogen form? The hydrogen that is utilized in HHO fuel or else gas is methodically known as the oxy-hydrogen that means, hydrogen gas molecule have 2 hydrogen atoms as well as 1-oxygen atom for each molecule. What is amazing is, this hydrogen gas is made by electrolysis of water. As water is simply accessible, it generates HHO fuel very easily to do.

So How Does HHO Gas Conversion Kit Works?

HHO gas conversion kit, as well know as the running car on water, is particularly designed modification, which is added into your car that lets your vehicle run on oxy-hydrogen gas. Hydrogen gas conversion kit works mainly with distilled water in order to produce this HHO fuel. And this conversion kit also makes electrolytic conversion using power from that vehicles engine to make oxy-hydrogen, therefore, pushing gas in car’s carburetor.

Which Vehicle Can Be Used On HHO Gas Conversion Kits?

You can make use of these hydrogen fuel kits on gas or else diesel powered trucks, cars, vans as well as SUV’s. So, as being said, you can also run it on anything. Even on your lawn mower.

There are many benefits in order to place any of these hydrogen conversion kits on the car, some of them includes:

1. Practically maintenance free!

2. Put in extra water when required!

3. You can double or Triple the gas mileage through running car on water!

4. Save more than 40% on the fuel costs!

5. It will not take up enough of room under cover of your vehicle!

6. In helping to save the earth do your split!

Conclusion

Are you in search of some ways that will help you stop paying very high rates at gas station? Purchasing hydrogen conversion kit guidebook and putting any of these hydrogen kits on car, van, truck, or SUV, no matter if it is a gas or diesel, it might be the good solution that you are looking for! Do not hesitate, and acquire any of these kits right now to begin saving some money!

The alternative fuel vehicle tax incentives will be provided to those people who will patronize the recommended alternative fuels by the US government. A number of incentives have been offered by the federal Government to encourage the public to use these alternatives. Tax credits are the most common incentives offered, which means that the net tax will be reduced and will definitely give more savings to some vehicle owners. To ensure that you have been deducted with the right amount of tax, you may check from tax professional about the current advice on deductions and tax credits. There are credits available, depending on the type of fuel and vehicle you used.

If you had purchased an alternative fuel for your vehicle and put it in your service before January 1, 2006, you may be able to get this alternative motor vehicle credit. This was also a part of the alternative fuel vehicle tax incentives given to the car owners who use alternative fuels. Tax credit that is equivalent to 50 percent of the incremental rate of the car with an extra 30 percent for the incremental rate of automobiles with almost zero emissions has been provided by the legislation.

Many vehicle owners will surely take advantage with the use of fuel alternatives recommended by the federal Government as it does not only help them to get savings, but it will also give benefits to the mother earth. The use of alternative fuels is extremely advised not only because the gas price has continue to increase but also to keep the environment clean.

Going back to the process of alternative fuel vehicle tax incentives, it is advised that in order for the purchaser of the car, be able to claim the credit, he or she must download first the IRS form 8910. The clean fuel vehicle property tax deduction has replaced this legislation from previous years. If you want to know credit rules on vehicle conversions, you may also download the IRS Notice 2006-54.

To give further discussion regarding alternative fuel vehicle tax incentives, listed below are some of the other incentives that can be claimed by a vehicle owner who uses alternative fuels:

The hybrid motor vehicle credit – tax credit for this was exclusively provided to some light-duty hybrid vehicles, weighted less than 8,501 GVWR. The two parts included for this credit are the conservation credit that ranges from 250-1,000 dollars and the fuel economy part that ranges from 400 to 2,400 dollars.

The fuel cell motor vehicle credit – This credit was given to the purchaser who owns a light-duty fuel cell automobile. The base tax credit for this is 8,000 dollars and is only effective up December 31, 2009 and after the said date tax credit will lower down to 4,000 dollars. Vehicle is required to have a Bin 5 tier emission levels in order to be qualified for this credit.

Aside from the above-mentioned credits, other incentives include electric vehicle tax credit, and alternative fuel infrastructure tax credit. These alternative fuel vehicle tax incentives have been provided to give benefits to the vehicle owners who continuously suffer from the unending increase of gas price and to protect the environment as well.

What in the world is a Flexible Fuel Vehicle? It’s a car or truck that is capable of burning certain alternative fuels. Now we’re not talking gasoline vs. diesel engines here, we’re talking about gasoline engines that can also burn ethanol, natural gas, propane, hydrogen, methanol, and p-series fuels. According to some chemist at the U.S. Department of Energy, p-series fuels are ‘a unique blend of natural gas liquids (pentanes plus), ethanol, and the biomass-derived co-solvent methyltetrahydrofuran’ just in case you were wondering.

Anyway, if you own one of these flexible fuel vehicles, and you could own one without realizing it, then you might be able to save yourself a whopping amount of money now that gas is nearing the price of gold.

Although some of the more exotic alternative fuels may not be flowing out of the pumps at your neighborhood service station, there is a good chance that ethanol is.

Ethanol is alcohol-based and it’s made by fermenting and distilling corn, barley, or wheat. It can also be made from "cellulosic biomass", which is just a fancy phrase for ‘chunks of trees and grass’, except that this version is called ‘Bioethanol’ instead of plain ‘Ethanol’.

E85 is an Ethanol/Gasoline product that’s being sold at a lot of gas stations. It’s a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. E95 is a 95/5 blend of ethanol and gasoline. Both blends are capable of being burned by most Flexible Fuel Vehicles.

Some service stations are selling an E10 (10/90 ethanol/gasoline blend), that doesn’t really qualify as an alternative fuel. Its primary purpose is to reduce carbon monoxide levels, and it can be burned by most any engine that burns gasoline.

Unlike Hybrid Vehicles, flexible fuel vehicles are not necessarily more expensive because of the alternative fuel option, and they aren’t anywhere near as rare. In fact, there’s a chance that you’re driving one right now. If the salesperson didn’t tell you, and you’re not the kind that reads owner’s manuals, and you’re ignoring the sticker that’s probably on the inside of your gas tank cover, you could be in for a cash-saving surprise.

If you’re not sure if you own an FFV, or you’re planning on buying a new car soon, then visit the U.S. Department of Energy’s Flexible Fuel Vehicle (http://www.eere.energy.gov/afdc/afv/models.html) list.

If there isn’t a FFV in your life, there’s still hope. You can have an aftermarket conversion done. When you do a conversion, your gasoline-only engine ends up being able to burn some particular alternative fuel such as compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG, or propane), or Ethanol. You have three conversion choices; ‘dedicated’, ‘dual-fuel’, and ‘bi-fuel’. Dedicated means that your engine only burns one fuel after the conversion. Dual-fuel engines can burn two different fuels, and with a bi-fuel conversion, your engine burns two different fuels at the same time.
So, if you think that you have no choice but to continue paying through the nose when you’re paying at the pump, look into getting a Flexible Fuel Vehicle or an aftermarket conversion.
